5 chances to win!

My friend Beth is having a giveaway.  Every day this week a pair of her fabulous earrings are up for grabs!

Now is a great time to treat yourself!  Be sure to stop by her Etsy store this week and get 10% off just by writing “happy birthday Beth in the comment box at checkout!

While I’m busy completing projects (more posts next week) and freelance work I thought I would post a few of my favorite Etsy sellers, two of which were at the fair last weekend.

Much like its a crime to wear your favorite band t-shirt to a rock show if they are the main act, the same can be said for wearing an Etsy crafter shirt to the craft fair.

Yes, we know you love Dave Matthew’s Band…that’s why you’re at the show!  No need to be wearing their signature shirt you just picked up at the merch table! Well, I’m sure I got that same look as I strolling around the fair.

sketching in style

This beautiful leather bound sketchbook by Oberon design was a gift from my friend, E, last Christmas. For a few months it sat in my home office where I admired it from afar. It was one of those gifts that seemed “too nice” to use on a daily basis. You know what I mean, like a favorite shirt that you try not to wear too often for the fear of it fading.

Anyway, in June I started taking this gem of a journal with me everywhere! Rather than having five different notebooks, everything goes in here.  It has a front and back pocket where I can stash photos, notes, receipts and it even has a handy lined paper insert.  I write lists, workouts, ideas, freelance projects, sketches, whatever pops into my head. It’s like free therapy!

Thanks E, this has been a great gift!

Wallpaper contest

Today I discovered Wordle.net. You may have already heard of this site but it’s a lot of fun for someone that’s a design geek like me!

You can enter text or your own blog url (which I did) and it will create a word cloud or pattern. You can mess with colors, fonts, and the layout. It’s a great way to pass some time, in a creative way of course!
